Cash App Payment Completed but Not Received

Do not send a replacement payment. Cash App describes person-to-person transfers as instant, and a completed payment cannot simply be canceled. First verify which Cash App account received it.

Sender: open the completed transaction

In Activity, select the payment and compare:

• recipient name and profile photo
• exact $cashtag, phone number, or email
• amount and time
• web receipt or transaction identifier

Do not share a receipt publicly; it can contain useful information for scammers. Send the identifier only through Cash App’s official support.

If the destination does not match the intended person, this is a wrong-recipient case. Cash App says completed payments cannot be reversed automatically; use the in-app request/refund path and contact support, but recovery is not guaranteed.

Recipient: check the correct account

The recipient should open Activity, not only the balance screen. Then confirm that the sender used a contact attached to the currently signed-in Cash App account.

Cash App’s current guidance says a missing expected payment can involve:

• an incorrect $cashtag, phone number, or email
• an identity-verification prompt or receiving limit
• a pending payment awaiting acceptance
• an outdated app or session display

If the payment is marked Pending in the recipient’s Activity, open it and review whether Accept is offered. Complete identity steps only inside the official app.

Compare both sides without exposing credentials

The sender can read the destination aloud; the recipient can confirm whether it is theirs. Neither person needs to share a password, PIN, full card number, one-time code, or screen-control access.

If a phone number or email belongs to an older Cash App account, the recipient may need official account recovery. Do not create several new accounts or change identifiers while support is tracing the payment.

Contact Cash App through the app

When the completed destination is correct but Activity still does not show the payment, both parties should contact Cash App from their own apps and reference the same transaction.

Use Profile > Support or type cash.app/help directly. Cash App also publishes 1-800-969-1940 as its US support number, but verify contact information on Cash App’s site before calling because fake support numbers are common in search results.

Ask support to confirm the receiving account and open a case. Save the case number and do not send a duplicate while the case is open.

Watch for a resend scam

A dishonest recipient may claim the first payment is missing and pressure you to pay a second $cashtag. Trust your Activity record and official support trace—not a screenshot.

Cash App says it will never ask for a PIN or login code by phone, email, or text. Never send money to “verify” or “release” the completed payment.
